Peugeot has issued the following press release:
It�s in a relaxing atmosphere combining natural materials, water and vegetation that Peugeot invites visitors to Frankfurt�s 61st Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung to discover 32 models, representing its range marketed in Germany and 3 concept cars.
The Peugeot 206 sedan, a new petal for the 206 daisy
Actively continuing its policy of bolstering its range, Peugeot unveils its new � booted � version of the 206. This new silhouette, the fifth model in the range (3 and 5 door hatchback, CC and SW) receives its world premi�re at the 2005 Frankfurt Motor Show. This 4-door saloon will be produced in Teheran, at the Iran Khodro plant from January 2006 for the Iranian market and from March 2006 for export.
The 206 sedan is based on the fundamental principles of the 206 range, which ensures a new interpretation for each of the different silhouettes. Available since launch in a hatchback, in 3- and 5-door versions, the 206 has been the object of some innovative developments in response to the expectations of 21st century customers.
206: An international commercial success
To date, more than 5 million 206s are driven on roads across the globe, a testimony to the commercial success of a car that very quickly became a benchmark, combining an assertive, timeless style with the values of dynamism, comfort and safety. Indeed, the 206 is on the point of beating the all-time production record for a Peugeot m odel, held by the 205, with 5,278,000 units produced. Europe�s best-selling vehicle from 2000 to 2003, the 206 remains today the leading model for registrations in its segment. It is also Europe�s best-selling Diesel vehicle in the small car category.
Illustrating the strong international presence of the Marque, the 206 is sold in 145 countries around the world, and 82% of vehicles produced were exported in 2004. Manufactured or assembled at six sites worldwide: three in Europe (Mulhouse, Poissy,Ryton), and three outside Europe (Iran, Brazil an Argentina), the 206 has a daily rate of production in excess of 3,100 units.
A new 206 worthy of perpetuating the 206 line
With the 206 sedan, Peugeot provides a solution for the strong demand in international markets for a small saloon vehicle which provides, in terms of comfort, safety and drivability, a genuine benchmark vehicle for the segment at an international level.
With a length of 4.19 m, or + 35 cm compared to the saloon thanks to an extended rear overhang, and a width of 1.66 m, the 206 sedan is a generous and remarkably roomy saloon.
The style of the 206 sedan is particularly well-balanced, creating an impression of fluidity and dynamism. The integration of an elegant rear aspect, reminiscent of the 607, strengthens the customary versatility of this distinctive and naturally status-enhancing silhouette.
The 206 sedan is available in two trim levels of finish and with two petrol engines: A 1.4 litre engine developing 55 kW (around 75 bhp) combined with a manual gearbox, and a 1.6 litre engine developing 80 kW (around 110 bhp) with the choice of a manual or automatic gearbox.
20Cup
Expressing Peugeot�s new alignment with sport, the 20Cup is an innovative concept, both � fun � and dynamic: suggesting an elegant synthesis between two worlds � that of the motor car by its front aspect and that of the motorcycle by its single rear wheel. This sporty, three-wheel roadster, shown in two examples, differentiated only by colour, promises real driving pleasure through the strong sensations it evokes.
Confirming its presence in high-level motor sport, Peugeot recently announced its new commitment to competition via the LMES Championship.
The 20Cup, in a more conventional form but drawing much of its inspiration from the saloon vehicle, will give Peugeot the basis for the development of a strong presence on the racing circuit.
Prefiguring the stylistic characteristics of a future model through its front aspect, the 20Cup announces a Peugeot style that is even more incisive and feline. Radical by dint of its low ride height and engineering solutions taken from the world of motor sport, this concept car is built around a one-piece carbon chassis incorporating a separate two-seater cockpit located at road level. The very low assembly and front transverse power train are designed to load the front axle and lower the centre of gravity as much as possible. The single-arm rear axle, virtually load-free, is used only to steer this vehicle, which weighs less than 500 kg and is centred on the front axle for extremely efficient road holding.
Built aerodynamically, the 20Cup presents a generous front-mounted air intake, with air evacuated laterally ahead of the front wheels. On the lower body sides, profiles serve as an aerodynamic diffuser to promote maximum bearing on the front axle.
A new engine, the fruit of cooperation between the PSA Peugeot Citro�n and BMW Group, is introduced by Peugeot for the first time at the prototype stage on this concept car: this turbo-charged 4-cylinder petrol engine with direct injection has sixteen valves and two overhead camshafts and is packed with ultra-modern technical features. On this version it develops a maximum power of 125 kW (more than 170 bhp for less than 500 kg!) and a maximum torque of 240 Nm.
The sequential 6-speed manual gearbox has synchronizer dog teeth and is controlled by means of paddles under the steering wheel.
For this high-performance vehicle, the front suspension is the dual wishbone type, with drop links and an adjustable anti-roll bar. The rear wheel is held by a single arm with a spring/damper assembly, equipped with a rocker arm to ensure variable flexibility. Of the three 18�� alloy wheels, the one at the rear is the � cage � type with two removable wheel bodies.The front tyres are 210/65 R18s and the rear tyre is a 377/71 R18.
This two-seater car features rack and pinion steering and a � multifunction � steering wheel. It houses the control paddles of the piloted gearbox and, in its centre, a touch screen displaying a virtual readable image that remains horizontal regardless of the position of the steering wheel.This screen whose image is computed according to the steering wheel angle allows the driver for example to switch on the headlamps and can provide driving assistance during sporty use by showing transverse as well as longitudinal acceleration � It also contains all of the car�s operating indicators.
The metallic black or opaque white body also has direct carbon surfaces and, on each side, an �historic� lion�s head that follows the curve of the front wing. A central red strip decorates the car�s body lengthwise.
The cockpit interior features a black leather trim.
The main dimensions of the 20Cup are as follows:
- length: 3.63 m
- width: 1.77 m
- height: 1.16 m
- wheelbase: 2.31 m
The vehicle�s kerb weight is less than 500 kg.

masina iese urata din cauza cerintelor...daca prelungesti o masina mica si o faci sedan exact asa va arata....ca sa arate bine => alti bani si nu o mai cumpara nimeni (oricum nu segmentul careia i se adresa).
e interesanta miscarea celor de la peugeot, poate vine ca raspuns la miscarea Renault/dacia.
raportul dotari/pret va fi crucial aici.
p.s. designul nu e o problema, cum nu e nici pt contracanditate.....logan, fabia, clio....toate masini "frumoase"....kalos e mai ok, accent mi se pare nasol.

Peugeot a lansat modelul 206 Sedan cu ocazia inaugurarii noului showroom si service din Pantelimon. Modelul va fi comercializat abia din luna ianuarie iar varianta standard va avea un pret de pornire de la 9000 de euro cu toate taxele incluse.
La acest pret, 206 Sedan va avea ca echipare standard geamuri electrice fata, airbag pentru sofer si pasager, aer conditionat, proiectoare de ceata si inchidere centralizata. Peugeot 206 Sedan va trebui sa castige un sector de piata foarte dificil, principalii sai adversari fiind Fiat Albea si Dacia Logan. Oficialii Peugeot au estimat o cifra de vanzari de 400 unitati pe luna.
Complexul BlueBox inaugurat de Peugeot in Pantelimon este cel mai mare din tara. Constructia se intinde pe o suprafata de 4100 mp si a fost realizata in decursul a 12 luni cu o investitie de 7 milioane euro.
Complexul cuprinde un showroom, un service (cu o suprafata de 2500 mp), spatii destinate expunerii autovehiculelor de ocazie, spatii destinate comercializarii de piese de schimb si o zona de asteptare dotata cu acces internet, cafe-bar si magazin cu obiecte promotionale. In cadrul complexului operatiunile de service sunt realizate cu ajutorul programelor Peugeot Rapide si Peugeot Assistance.
