Dragii mei dragi,

Cei de la BMW pregatesc pentru 2003 noul M3 CSL. Cartea de vizita: 360 CP si cu aproximativ 200 Kg mai usor decat M3-ul actual.

"BMW's M3 CSL Lightweight Concept laps the northern circuit of Germany's famed Nurburgring in less than 8 minutes. How's that grab you for special? Think about it this way: A stock M3 requires 30 additional seconds to perform the same feat.

That's what happens when a great sports car goes on a diet. The CSL Lightweight weighs a whopping 440 fewer pounds than a stock M3, without foregoing the amenities that make daily driving that much easier. Not only has the car lost weight, but it also makes more power � more than 350 horses thanks to a streamlined cylinder charge process and reduced friction. The result is a 7.7-pound per horsepower power to weight ratio instead of the stock M3's 9.6-lb. per hp figure. This engine drives the rear wheels through BMW's Sequential M Gearbox with Drivelogic (SMG). Two paddles mounted to the steering wheel are used to shift gears.

To shed poundage, BMW jettisoned the side airbags, the rear seat and the trunk toolkit. Beyond that, plenty of carbon fiber and carbon fiber-reinforced plastics were used to lighten the M3. The front air dam and the doors, as well as the rear decklid, are carbon fiber. Flaps on the air dam, side mirror housings and roof are also carbon fiber. Weight came out of the bulkhead between the passenger compartment and the trunk, the floorpan and the floor of the cargo compartment. The seat frames, center console and gauge trim are composed of carbon fiber-reinforced plastic. Extra-thin rear glass is employed, and magnesium supports the instrument panel.

And with 19-inch wheels with 18-inch brake discs, you can imagine that this Lightweight is no lightweight when it comes to going and stopping."

Dragii mei dragi,

Sincer sa fiu nici eu nu am inteles rostul acelei "gaurici" in spoiler pe partea stanga ... dar hey ... vorbim de BMW si nu cred ca au uitat sa-i faca una si in partea dreapta :rolleyes: In rest ce pot spune despre un automobil mai rapid cu 30 de secunde pe tur la Nurburgring decat etalonulul acestui segment de automobile ... premiul I cu coronitza.

Posibil ... la viteza cu care M3 CSL trece pe langa lexus ... soferul bmw-ului nu prea are timp sa vada ce masini a depasit ... astfel poate urmari imaginile in slow-motion dupa ce a ajuns la destinatie http://www.garajul.r...tyle_emoticons/default/010.gif

Da oltcit, si mie imi place Jag-ul, dar nu la fel de mult ca si pe vremuri. Intr-adevar Jaguar este un nume cu o imagine pe masura, dar trebuie sa recunoastem ca in ultimii ani nu mai este ceea ce a fost ... mai ales de cand face parte din familia Ford.

Totusi cind o sa vedem si noi CSL-ul? Intra-adevar M3 evoluase in toate directiile, inclusiv se ingrasase cam mult. 1600 kg mi se pare foarte mult. Oricum ceva fibra de carbon, aluminiu si magneziu au rezolvat problema.:sleep:

Cu ocazia Salonului Auto de la Geneva din luna Martie va fi prezentat oficial noul BMW M3 CSL. Greutatea a fost redusa la 1385kg iar puterea maxima a crescut la 360 CP / 7900 RPM, dezvoltand o putere de 111 CP/ litru (cea mai mare putere litrica pentru un motor de 6 cilindri :) ). Cutia de viteze este SMG va dispune de Launch Control (la fel ca si masinile din F1).
Performantele masini:
0-100 - 4.9 sec
0-200 -16.8 sec
vmax - 250 km/h (limitata electronic)

... Nobody does it better :P

Dap, asta pare sa fi fost ultima evolutie a acestui motor. Totusi se intimpla ceva la BMW, parca nu se mai iau asa in serios ca pina acum. Ma uit la acest CSl si ce vad: doar 100kg mai putin decit versiunea stock. Nu prea si-au dat silinta in directia asta (unde se putea evolua cel mai mult). Mai mult, masina nu poate sa faca sub 8 minute la Nurburgring?!?!?!??!? Cum se poate asa ceva, BMW sa nu faca ce a spus?? Cu toate ajutoarele electronice etc etc il bate un amarit de LSD cu blocaj variabil de la GT3 sau 100 cp mai putin combinati cu o super transmisie 4x4. E o chestie aici , poate sasiul nu e chiar reusit...cine stie...

Totusi puteau sa se chinuie mai mult la scaderea masei.

Cred ca daca puneau V8 stricau complet balansul masinii si "ingropau" trenul fata, masina devenea si mai subviratoare etc etc. Au fost ceva tuneri care au pus V8 pe seria 3 si rezultatele nu au fost stralucite (la fel si C55 AMG)

Motorul era suficienet de bun pentru cursa lui (mare) insa masina e prea grea, mult prea grea.

Mai Evile, ceea ce faci tu este carcotaserie curata :P Cum poti sa spui ca M3 CSL la cele 1385 kg este greu?
Ferrai 360 Modena are 1470 KG
575 M Maranello are 1700 KG
iar ENZO este la fel de greu ca si M3 CSL !!! :)
Ca sa nu mai vorbesc de concurenta directa a lui M3, S4 are aprox 1800 KG iar c32 AMG 1650 KG.
Motorul este extraordinar producand 360 CP din 3200cmc, in timp ce altii nici cu turbo nu viseaza la asemenea putere (si aici stii tu la cine ma refer ;) )

Nu mai, eu consider usoara o masina sub 1200kg. Motorul e super. Masina asta a fost si testata, si nu s-a coborit sub 8. Ceva in jur de 8.07-8.10. Crezi ca daca coborau sub 8 nu se laudau ei??

Acum traim in alte vremuri Evil. Este greu sa vinzi o masina fara ABS, Aer Conditionat, etc ... care toate cantaresc nu gluma. Si nici carbon nu poti utiliza prea mult pentru ca este extrem de scump :)
Cat despre Nurburing ... eu nu am auzit sa fi fost testat noul M3 CSL. Am sa caut informatii despre asta.

aicule, alea erau caracteristicile pe care vroiau ei sa le atinga. Si sint pentru prototipul de la Frankfurt nu pentru masina de strada. Asa au zis atunci, acum zic: am scazut sub 8.10 vrem sa atacam bariera de 8.00.

Asa este Evil. Tocmai am citit ca au atins 8:07 ... dar nu imi era cunoscut soferul. Poate cu unul mai bun ... :)
Oricum masina este superba, vezi ce masini sunt dupa 8:07 :D

Si in fond benchmarkul asta e destul de subiectiv. Ce daca ai scos 8 la N., asta nu inseamna ca o sa faci pe strada un Diablo cu un GT3. Acum am aflat ca motorul de la CSL este tot cu blocul din otel, plus alte piese stock (biele normale, nu din Ti ca la GT3). Cu bloc din aliaj, biele din Ti etc cred ca mai scoteau vreo 20-25 kg.
