La prima vedere, designul este mult mai fluid, inspiră mai multă dinamicitate.

Asa e ... nici "A-Class" nu mai e ce a fost ... mai e putin si o sa apara Mercedes Citan pe baza prieteniei cu "francezii de la Renault-Nissan" ... adica se cam duce totu' de ripaNici A-Class ăsta nu are prea multe în comun cu cel vechi

Looking significantly improved, the car adopts swoopy styling that was previewed by the A-Class concept. The overall design is relatively sporty and it helps to give the model an impressive 0.26 drag co-efficient.
Three different variants will be offered - Urban, Style and AMG Sport - and the latter model features red styling accents, a unique front axle, a revised suspension and exclusive 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels.
Inside, the cabin has high quality materials and an advanced design. Notable highlights include circular air vents, a free-standing COMAND display and electroplated "silver chrome" accents.
Under the hood, a variety of different engines are available. On the petrol side, there's 1.6- and 2.0-liter units with outputs ranging from 115 PS (85 kW / 113 hp) in the A 180, 156 PS (115 kW / 154 hp) in the A 200 and 211 PS (155 kW / 208 hp) in the A 250. Interestingly, the 1.6-liter engine features a new CAMTRONIC system which adjusts the "valve lift on the intake side [which] restricts the amount of fresh mixture used in the partial load range" for reduced fuel consumption.
Moving on to the diesels, the A 180 CDI produces 109 PS (80 kW / 108 hp) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) while the A 200 CDI boasts 136 PS (100 kW / 134 hp) and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque. Lastly, the A 220 CDI has a 2.2-liter engine which develops 170 PS (125 kW / 168 hp) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque.
Regardless of which engine is selected, it is equipped with an ECO start/stop system and can be paired to a six-speed manual or a 7G-DCT dual-clutch automatic.
On the safety front, there's a standard collision warning system with adaptive Brake Assist. It can be combined with an optional PRE-SAFE system which automatically tensions the seat belts and closes the windows if an accident is imminent.
The 2013 Mercedes A-Class will start arriving at dealerships in September.

nu stiu ce sa zic, nu imi place foarte tare, inca nu ma pronunt. Ceea ce e imbucurator este ca va avea (mai tirziu putin) o versiune A25 AMG cu 2.0 turbo de 340 CP si tractiune 4Matic...
Imbucurator ptr cine?
Mie, prin noul design, mi se pare ca noul A'Class vrea sa atraga clienti mai tineri.
Oricum, un A'Class eu il vad ca o a doua masina in familie, nu ca singura
Din poze, insa, cel albastru mi se pare mai reusit. Cel gri parca e un pic exagerat la partea frontala

Mercedes A45 AMG first details and photos teased - Black Series hinted?
Mercedes-Benz has teased the A45 AMG compact hatchback with initial details and prototype photos.
The top of the range A-Class model marks the first time Mercedes-AMG is offering a high-performance vehicle in the compact class. As such, Mercedes-AMG is targeting a new demographic group with an age range from 30 up to around 45 - much younger than the usual AMG customer. Mercedes has identified these individuals as successful professionals looking for a compact, dynamic vehicle from a recognised performance brand as an expression of their stylish, trendy lifestyles.
Despite neglecting to tell us the horsepower, which is rumored to be 330 hp (246 kW / 335 PS), Mercedes confirms the A45 AMG will use a new 2.0-liter turbo engine with maximum torque significantly above 295 lb-ft (400 Nm). Via the AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed dual clutch transmission, power is directed to the standard all-wheel drive system. The AMG hatch also features an AMG sports suspension with independently developed front and rear axles, electromechanical AMG speed-sensitive sports steering, AMG high-performance braking system and 3-stage ESP with "SPORT Handling" mode.
The A45's 2.0-liter turbo engine will be the first AMG engine not produced in Affalterbach (AMG HQ). Instead it will be built at the Mercedes-Benz MDC Power engine production plant in Kölleda where four-cylinder engines for the A- and B-Class are normally produced. However, a dedicated assembly line is being set up for the new AMG engine. Mercedes insists the traditional AMG philosophy of "one man, one engine" will remain intact as each engine will bearing the signature of the engineer who built it.
The A45 AMG will have its public debut in the first quarter of 2013 - most likely at the Geneva Motor Show. Mercedes hints, "Further AMG high-performance compact cars with a variety of different characteristic features are already in the pipeline and will follow on the heels of the A 45 AMG." Perhaps a Black Series variant?
