Peugeot has released technical specifications concerning the 208 T16 Pikes Peak, following last week's reveal.
At its heart is a V6 3.2-liter twin-turbo engine producing 875 bhp (652 kW) transferred to all four wheels through a 6-speed sequential gearbox with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. Thanks to this setup it needs only
1.8 seconds until 62 mph (100 km/h),
4.8 seconds until 124 mph (200 km/h) and
7.0 seconds until 149 mph (240 km/h).
The Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak has a tubular steel frame with a carbon bodywork and front/rear anti-roll bars. Suspension system consists of double wishbones and pushrod/rocker arm actuation for all four corners, while the braking system has hydraulic double-circuit brakes with one-piece light-alloy calipers and 380mm front / 355mm rear vented carbon discs.
It rides on custom 18x13 magnesium alloys derived from F1 technology and are covered by Michelin 31/71x18 tires. Other highlights include hydraulic power steering, pressurized dampers and torsion bars.
It tips the scales at just 875 kg (1,929 lbs) and has the following dimensions: 4500mm length, 2000mm width, 1300mm height, with a 2695mm wheelbase. Overhangs stand at 1690mm front/rear, while the Peugeot 908-based rear wing measures 2000mm. The car's fuel tank has a 40-liter capacity.
