In ce priveste motoarele actualmente masina are ca unic motor 2.0 TDI de la VAG de 140 CP
Ulterior dupa lansarea surorilor urite C-Crosser si mutantei 4007, care se vor lansa cu 2.2 HDi de 158 CP, va primi si Outlander-ul acest motor PSA, care va inlocui 2.0 TDI-ul.
Ulterior vor fi oferite si 2 noi motoare pe benzina: un motor complet nou dezvoltat de Mitsubishi Motors, cu o putere de 162 kW / 220 cp, pe benzina, V6, cu tehnologia MIVEC, plus o varianta de 125 kW / 170 cp a noului �World Engine� Mitsubishi-Chrysler-Hyundai pe benzina de 2.4 litri.

Daca pe noul 2.2 Hdi vor oferi si o cutie automata sau CVT ... o pun pe lista ... pe langa XC70 si XC60, inca nu m-am hotarat care din ele .
Oricum ar fi mai ieftina cu vreo 10 mii fara taxe fata de un Q7 ...

Cel mai scump outlander este 28,000 EUR (incluzind taxa vamala de 10 %) + TVA, in vreme ce Q7 in varianta cea mai ieftina este 44,500 EUR + TVA. Unul e 2.0 TDI altul 3.0 TDI, deci nu exista nici o comparatie....
Sau vorbeai de XC70 ca e mai ieftina cu 10,000 EUR fata de Q7 ?!

Outlander va avea noua cutie robotizata Dual Clutch SST cu 6 viteze !
E foarte posibil ca aceasta sa fie cuplata cu 2.2 Hdi-ul.
Va fi disponibil probabil de la inceputul lui 2009, prezentarea va fi la Paris in toamna.
Din acest moment, pt mine, Nitro tocmai a devenit istorie.
Sa speram ca pretul petrolului (si in special al motorinei) nu va urca prea repede, nu de alta dar ca sa nu trec direct la hibrid, hidrogen, motoreta atomica etc si sa apuc si eu sa ma bucur de aceasta bijuterie.
S-a anuntat inca de 1 aprilie (sper sa nu fie o pacaleala, dar tot internetul e plin de articole pe tema asta).

Mitsubishi fits SST dual-clutch gearbox to Outlander SUV

Already heralded as one of the first high-performance dual-clutch gearboxes to be put into an affordable car, Mitsubishi�s Sport Shift Transmission (SST) will also see use in the company�s Outlander SUV. This is the first implementation of a dual-clutch gearbox in an SUV and is another step towards the eventual demise of the torque-converter based automatic transmission.
Advantages of dual-clutch technology over both traditional automatic and manual transmissions are numerous. Lightning quick shifts, smooth power delivery and high mechanical efficiency along with ease-of-use in automatic or manual mode combine in the SST to bring the very best of both worlds without the drawbacks of either of its predecessors.
The six-speed automated manual Twin Clutch SST allows the driver to choose between fully automatic and manual shifting modes and features a small toggle switch for swapping between Normal, and Sport modes. Gears are changed via a pair of magnesium paddle shifters located behind the steering wheel. The SST in the Outlander will also feature a Hill Start Assist function that momentarily holds the brake until the accelerator is pressed when the vehicle detects it is pointed uphill.
According to the company�s future forecast, the SST will be appearing in more and more Mitsubishi vehicles - increasingly alongside diesel engines - in an effort to expand the fuel-saving and performance-enhancing benefits throughout its line.

Mitsubishi used the New York Auto Show to hint at big things to come for the Outlander crossover. The Outlander GT Prototype's an indicator of the future design direction for this vehicle, and the obviously Evo-inspired looks are matched by improved handling and performance. The next-generation Outlander is on the way, and we suspect that the Outlander GT Prototype is a thinly-disguised version of it.
The resemblance to Mitsubishi's rally-bred super sedan goes beyond the gaping grille and reshaped headlights. The Outlander GT Prototype has a lightweight polished aluminum roof panel that helps to lower the center of gravity and reduce weight. Nineteen-inch OZ Racing wheels emphasize the lowered and stiffened suspension.
Mitsubishi has also installed its Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) system. S-AWC modulates power distribution by monitoring power output, throttle input, wheel speed and direction as well as a number of other vehicle attitude indicators provided by the stability control and ABS computers. It enables the Outlander GT Prototype to turn tighter, transfer power to slipping wheels, and add stability during cornering. Performance is also aided by a slight power increase for the 3.0 liter V6 engine, which is up to 230 horsepower.
Inside, there's a more comfortable interior that includes a larger LCD screen for navigation, 710-watt Rockford Fosgate sound system and the new FUSE Hands-Free Media Gateway system with Bluetooth and voice-recognition software.
If you're thinking that the Outlander GT Prototype looks production-ready, you're not alone. Although Mitsu's calling it a "prototype," we don't see anything here that couldn't be included on a production car.
