The Tri-Turbo diesel engine is said to like an inline six-cylinder with 3.0 liter displacement and three turbochargers. The power of this engine will peak around the 400 horsepower mark, with some reports indicating around 350 hp.
First pre-production test mules of the new BMW 750d were seen around Munich and the flagship 7er is rumored to be introduced after the Frankfurt Auto Show this fall. Our sources indicate that the car will be also be available in the long wheelbase configuration, along It remains unknown at the moment whether the new BMW 750d or 750Ld will make their way to the US, but European customers will get to enjoy them starting in Spring 2012.

New triple-turbo diesel unit capable of making up to 400 PS (294 kW / 395 bhp)
BMW will be making the most of its new 3.0 liter, tri-turbo diesel unit as BMW Blog now reports the engine will be available in the 5-Series too.
The M550dx nomenclature came from a leaked supplier form for a model we have not seen before. The M-Sport Package 5-Series diesel (with xDrive) will likely feature around 400 PS (294 kW / 395 bhp) to maintain output at around the same level as the 550i (407 PS).
The new tri-turbo diesel, though, will first be introduced in the X6 xDrive50d model which will debut in March 2012. It will also be featured in the upcoming, facelifted 2012 7-Series in the 750d variant.

The Detroit Bureau is reporting that BMW sources are saying that the tentatively named BMW 550dXM is definitely slated for a debut next spring.
The 550dXM will be coming from BMW's M division and will represent a diesel M5. The report says the 3.0 liter, tri-turbo diesel unit will deliver somewhere between 500 PS (368 kW / 493 bhp) and 550 PS (405 kW / 543 bhp) with a torque rating exceeding the 680 Nm (502 lb-ft) of torque of the current gasoline-powered M5.
But BMW M division's global marketing manager, Brian Watts, won't yet confirm the model is a sure go, although, he admits the automaker is considering the option.

tu nebuno tu, zapacito, te sparg, te-ndoi ... m-am sucit ... si tot sugi si tot bagi si tot sugi ... daca nu e tare, cred ca o frec degeaba ... de meserie sunt frumoasa. si sunt modesta, dar vreau sa se stie .. înaltă, blondă și cu sânii mari ... sunt cu mașina la spălătorie.

Singurele masini oarecum contemporane cu mine care aveau 2 cilindri ar fi Trabant, Fiat 126, Citroen 2 CV si Oltcit Special ... la alea parca nu mi se parea asa ciudat ... da' un Alfa Romeo cu 2 cilindri si sub 1000 cmc... parca nu da bine. Desi pe hirtie motorasu' asta pare mult mai ghizdav decit ala de 1.4 MPI 58 kW (care intre noi fie vorba ... nu pricep ce draqu au vrut sa faca cu el pe un Alfa Romeo ... Alfa Romeo fiind masinile alea despre care Henry Ford spunea cam asa "When I see an Alfa Romeo go by, I tip my hat") ... parca ar sta mai bine doar pe un Fiat 500 / Panda ...
L.e. - adevaru' e ca la fel de ciudat mi se parea pe vremuri ca pe Fiat 600 pt. 600 cmc au avut nevoie de 4 cilindri.

Nu doar pe hirtie este peste ala de 78cp, si in realitate e la fel. Putere mai mare la ture mai joase din cauza turbinei, multiair etc.
Problema nu e motorul, problema consta in prejudecati si daca se poate trece de ele (depinde foarte mult de marca).
