Looking sleek and sinister, the model features an evolutionary design with bi-xenon headlights, a double-bubble roof and side-exiting exhaust tips. The rear end bares some resemblance to the Maserati GranTurismo but adopts a massive rear spoiler and LED taillights.
While the previous Viper had a parts-bin interior, the new cabin is significantly improved with higher quality materials and advanced technology. Notable highlights include leather upholstery, a digital instrument cluster and Sabelt racing seats which sit 20mm lower and have an additional 90mm of travel. There's also metallic accents, a Harman Kardon audio system and an 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment system.
Motivation is provided by an 8.4-liter V10 engine which has been equipped with a composite intake, high-strength forged pistons, sodium-filled exhaust valves and new catalysts. Thanks to these modifications, the aluminum mill produces approximately 640 hp (477 kW / 649 PS) and 600 lb-ft (814 Nm) of torque - 40 hp (30 kW / 41 PS) and 40 lb-ft (54 Nm) more than the previous engine. It is connected to a six-speed manual transmission which sends power to the rear wheels via a speed-sensing limited-slip differential.
Besides being more powerful, the Viper has gone on a diet full of lightweight components. The car's tubular steel space frame has a magnesium cowl and is covered by a body which features a carbon fiber hood, roof and liftgate as well as aluminum doors and plastic quarter panels. This enables the entry-level model to tip the scales at 3,354 lbs (1,521 kg) which is approximately 100 lbs (45 kg) less than the previous Viper.
To ensure the car handles like a proper supercar, it rides on a new chassis which is 50 percent stiffer than its predecessor. In order to get this impressive figure, engineers installed an aluminum X brace that "ties the suspension pickup points to the magnesium cowl super casting and contributes to improved torsional rigidity and stiffness." Elsewhere, there's a new rear suspension, Brembo brakes, electronic stability / traction control and 18- / 19-inch wheels with Pirelli P Zero tires.
The standard Viper will be offered with an optional SRT Track Pack and in GTS trim. The Track Pack adds Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires, a four-mode traction / stability control system and unique Brembo brakes. On the other hand, the GTS has a leather-wrapped dashboard and driver selectable Bilstein DampTronic shock absorbers.

Da, nu e la fel de spartan, insa oricum cele doua nu vizeaza aceeasi clientela. De fapt, Viper ar fi concurent cu 911, Murcielago (Gallardo parca ar fi cam mic totusi), care la randul lor nu prea concureaza cu modele de la Mercedes.
Vad ca la jante Viper'ul standard vine cu 18" ... slabutz

viper, mi-a placut tot timpul, a fost ceva deosebit in peisaj, ceva tipic american, dar o masina pe care nu as fi dat bani niciodata
