BMW has embraced diesel engines with their new M Performance Automobiles sub-brand, but AMG is charting a different course and staying committed to petrol engines.

Speaking with Autocar, AMG's Ola Källenius said diesel engines would compromise AMG's lineup. He went on to say that recent engines, such as the twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8, are relatively efficient thanks to direct injection and turbocharging.

He added that AMG has looked at diesel engines in the past, but "petrol engines have [the] obvious benefits of sound, weight, agility and response."

BMW interested in Saab - report

Born from the ultimate driving machine?

BMW and Saab signed an engine purchasing agreement in late 2010, but now there's word the German automaker could be interested in buying out the Swedish company.

Saabs United is reporting multiple sources have confirmed the Munich-based automaker wants to buy Saab and continue to build new models.

Regardless if the rumors pan out, there are reportedly six or seven serious bidders that are interested in buying part or all of Saab. Parties reportedly include Youngman, Mahindra & Mahindra and Turkish private-equity firm Brightwell Holdings.

Interestingly, the administrators overseeing the bankruptcy have revealed that Saab might not be sold to the highest bidder. Instead, the company could go to the bidder whose proposal has the best benefits for creditors, employees and the region.

Sandero la 10.650 euro diesel sau 9.000 euro benzina 1.2 16v NU este deloc o oferta nasoala. daca scazi si 3 cupoane ramane un pret foarte interesant. Singurul competitor ar fi Hyundai cu i20...

Eu Sandero as lua doar Stepway, ptr garda la sol (cel putin eu asa am impresia, ca Stepway e mai inalt decat un Sandero obisnuit)

Go! ala nu vine decat cu 1.2 75CP ... N'are nici macar servodirectie, ca sa nu mai zic de A/C. Pentru o masina personala nu cred ca ar fi alegerea cuiva Go!'ul. D'aia am zis ca ar fi versiunea de baza, ma uitasem inainte pe site'ul Dacia si vazusem care e pozitionarea Story'ului intre nivelele de dotari
