Renault's engineering chief Pay Sumonds believes the tyres will make the difference during the second half of the season. According to the Briton the tyres are the only major difference between Renault and Ferrari.
"Both Ferrari and Renault are equal at the moment I believe. It is only the tyres that make the difference at the moment. The Bridgestone tyres are better when it comes to graining and speed," believes Symonds. Renault team boss Flavio Briatore believes Michelin should wake up now Bridgestone is back to winning races. Briatore said on Tuesday: "It is about time for Michelin to wake up. We have been winning a lot of races this season but we want to win three or four more to clinch the championship title."
Renault is currently testing in Jerez de la Frontera. The team is focussing on a tyre programme with Michelin in preparation for the German Grand Prix.

wow...a pierdut 2 (doua !) curse si le trimite celor de la Michelin un mesaj,,,,it's time to wake up.

Renault F1 Team Announces 2007 Structure
The Renault F1 Team today announced the beginning of a new era for the reigning world champions, from the start of the 2007 season. Under the continued, dynamic leadership of Flavio Briatore and his senior technical staff, Giancarlo Fisichella and Heikki Kovalainen will lead the French manufacturer's challenge in the 2007 season, aided by a team of test drivers composed of Brazilians Ricardo Zonta and Nelson Piquet Jr.
Deci mai mult ca sigur Shumi se va retrage si Kimi va veni la Ferrari. Din punctul meu de vedere asta se va anunta Duminica dupa Monza.

The Renault driver, who was controversially penalised by stewards at Monza last weekend before suffering an engine failure in the race, said on Tuesday that he had bruised his knee in an unspecified practice incident in Italy.
''We took the decision not to test this week to let it recover in the best way possible,'' said Alonso, who admitted that he raced with the problem on Sunday.
Spanish reports say Alonso, who is also quoted early this week as slamming the retiring Michael Schumacher, will be replaced at Jerez by teammate Giancarlo Fisichella.
On 'Radio Marca', the 25-year-old Alonso called his 2006 championship rival the 'most unsporting driver in the history of formula one'.
He also admitted to contemplating not racing at Monza after stewards took away his three best qualifying laps.
''You think about not racing, but it goes away quickly once you put your helmet on,'' alonso said.

The retiring seven time world champion is being replaced by Kimi Raikkonen for the 2007 season, but Ferrari chief engineer Luca Baldisserri expressed quiet doubt that that Finn has the same ability to extend his talents beyond the cockpit.
Schumacher is already linked with a so far unspecified Ferrari role in the future, and Baldisseri told Gazzetta dello Sport: ''I am asking (Jean) Todt and (team manager Stefano) Domenicali already to convince him to test our (F1) cars.''
37-year-old Schumacher's own view, however, is less grim, as he called the decision to hire Raikkonen a 'very good' one.
''They are making sure that the success can continue,'' he insisted. ''They will exist after me, as they did before.''
But Kimi, too, acknowledges the pressure on him to fill a pair of mighty shoes. ''Of course the team expect a lot but I also expect a lot from myself.''
Raikkonen, 26, said he experienced a similar situation at McLaren in 2002, when he replaced twice world champion Mika Hakkinen.
He said: ''It wasn't easy then and it will not be easy this time. But I will go there and hopefully my best will be enough for everybody.''
