The Renault F1 Team is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement with Red Bull GmbH for the supply of Renault engines for the 2007 and 2008 Formula 1 seasons.
Renault has a strong tradition of Formula 1 engine supply dating back to 1983, when the French manufacturer first supplied customer engines to Lotus. Lotus, Ligier, Tyrrell, Williams and Benetton all raced with Renault horsepower at different times during the 1980s and 1990s, scoring a total of 80 Grand Prix victories.
Red Bull GmbH will confirm at a later date which of its teams (Red Bull Racing and Scuderia Toro Rosso) will use Renault engines during the 2007 season.
Renault F1 Team President Alain Dassas and Renault F1 Team Managing Director Flavio Briatore commented:
�It is positive for Formula 1 to have another team racing with a top-line, competitive engine, and this agreement will also reinforce Renault�s presence in the sport. We look forward to working with a dynamic, ambitious company such as Red Bull.�

British investors to build F1 track in Bulgaria
According to Darik News, British investors plan to construct a Formula One racing track in the seaside region of Kavarna.
The mayor's office has announced that the consortium is planning to invest over 15 million euros, which they think is sufficient to meet the necessary requirements of a modern F1 track. Since October last year there has been speculation of a circuit being built in Bulgaria to host an F1 race, most notably of a Dutch group that met with government officials in Silven in south Bulgaria, but now mayor Tsonko Tsonev is planning to present the proposal of the British group to the Municipal Council on 26 September.

Michael Schumacher is the highest-paid figure in sports, and next year he'll be the highest-paid figure not in sports. Emerging reports speculate on how much the 7-time (maybe 8-time) world champion will be earning in retirement, and if the staggering figures are right, he'll still be making more than any of the drivers remaining in F1, including his successor Kimi Raikkonen, current defending champ Fernando Alonso and his own brother Ralf.
Schumacher's manager Wili Weber is already lining up the sponsorship deals, declaring his goal to turn the driver into an "advertising emperor" after the end of the season in October. Personal sponsors Shell, Omega and Deutsche Vermogensberatung (DVAG � the logo on his hat), have reportedly already renewed their contracts, and with more time on his hands, the living legend is likely to find more sponsors who'd be keen to latch on to the Schumacher image...for big bucks.
Schumacher's net worth is estimated at around $800 million; enough to personally finance the 29% stake in Ferrari parent company Fiat is repurchasing.
And those guys on the welfare line thought it pays not to work!
He who wants too much from life ends up losing everything! But he who wants too little ends up not having anything at all!

But former team principal Peter Sauber told Swiss newspaper Blick: ''In the nine years that we cooperated, Ferrari never expressed the desire that we should obstruct an opponent of (Michael) Schumacher on the track.''

Schimbări interesante �n ceea ce priveşte maşina de siguranţă. Astfel, c�nd aceasta intervine, nici o maşină nu va mai avea voie să intre la boxe, p�nă ce toate maşinile nu se aliniază �n spatele safety-car-ului. Această regulă anulează astfel avantajul celor care opreau imediat la boxe pentru realimentare c�nd maşina de siguranţă ieşea pe pistă.
�nainte de revenirea safety-car-ului la boxe, orice maşină �nt�rziată situată �ntre maşini aflate �n turul de conducere trebuie să le depăşească pe acestea şi să treacă �n faţa safety-car-ului. Apoi trebuie să parcurgă circuitul p�nă ajunge �n spatele celorlalte maşini.

Speculation on Korean giant
Oct.21 (GMM) Speculation is linking Korean car maker Hyundai with a new bid to enter formula one.
The weekly \'Automobilwoche\' said Hyundai, once thought to be considering buying departed Paul Stoddart\'s Minardi team and also Jaguar and Williams, is now planning a possible appearance on the 2010 grid.
\"We are in discussions with Bernie Ecclestone,\" a Hyundai chief was quoted as confirming.
Fellow Korean multinational Samsung, presumably as a sponsor, might also be involved in the Hyundai project.

2011 may see forced induction
Nov.16 (GMM) Turbo-charged engine regulations will return to formula one probably in 2011, FIA president Max Mosley said this week.
Whilst declaring peace with the carmaker union GPDA\'s Burkhard Goeschel in Munich, Mosley suggested that the end of normally-aspirated engines in grand prix racing will coincide with a more environmentally friendly sport of the future.
\"The capacity would be up for discussion because we don\'t want to have a ridiculous level of horsepower,\" he said, adding that the engines would rev to a minimum of 15,000rpm and use \'bio fuel\'.
Mosley also said the final \'fuel burning\' stage of the current qualifying system is bad for F1\'s image and a tweak is possible for 2007.
He explained: \"If we want to change that for 2007 we need unanimity. One of the suggestions is that we take five minutes off and allow an extra set of tyres. Then you are going to see non-stop action.\"
In a Q&A published on the FIA\'s website on Thursday, Mosley also said he would probably retire before 2010.
